USAO-MDFL staff, including U.S. Attorney Roger Handberg, Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Peresie, and Community Outreach Specialist Khalilah Escalera joined representatives from FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Commodities Futures Trading Commission, State Attorney’s Office-5th Judicial Circuit, Marion/Sumter/Lake County Sheriffs’ Offices, and the Florida Attorney General’s Office to present key updates, information, and resources about common schemes targeting seniors, identity theft, cryptocurrency and precious metals fraud, and business email scams. More than 100 attendees participated in the event.
