About the District
WELCOME to the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Mississippi, our district's top federal law enforcement agency representing the litigative and defensive interests of the United States.
Our office is one of 94 USAO's within the 50 states and four territories. Our district covers 37 counties under three divisions. While we are based in the Oxford Division (including the counties of Benton, Calhoun, DeSoto, Lafayette, Marshall, Panola, Pontotoc, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tunica, Union and Yalobusha) we also have responsibilities in the courts found in the Aberdeen Division (including the counties of Alcorn, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, Itawamba, Lee, Lowndes, Monroe, Oktibbeha, Prentiss, Tishomingo, Webster and Winston) and the Greenville Division (including the counties of Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Coahoma, Grenada, Humphreys, Leflore, Montgomery, Sunflower and Washington).
We are committed to making our district, state and nation safer by partnering with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to detect, investigate and prosecute federal crimes. We preserve the Justice Department's mission to uphold the rule of law, keep our country safe, and protect civil rights. This is carried out by prosecuting violations of federal criminal law and defending the U.S. in civil lawsuits.
The prosecutors and professional staff of our office are devoted to their public service and to the core values of professionalism, ethics and civility. While our office may be small in numbers we do big things to keep our district safe. This site offers information about the work we do on behalf of the great citizens of the Northern District of Mississippi. Our goal is to do justice in every case we handle.
We hope that the information you find on our website is helpful and provides you a better understanding of our office and its mission.
